Re: The Weather
The rain wasn't too bad down my end of the county, but it was very welcome.

Re: The Weather
Shizara,
I'm not that far from you. It came down rather heavily here, and most of the roof gutters were overflowing. Could that be what happened to cause your water ingress?

Re: The Weather
I woke up as soon as it started - it was fierce and very quickly I heard pat, pat.. pat-pat-pat.. pat-pat-pat-pat ... A sound I recognised as water dripping on the carpet. No idea what happened on the roof but the roof itself was in good order. I got all the buckets and plastic containers then lined them up under the drips and went back to bed. When I got up I went to the PC and it wasn't working, so started checking the most obvious things. Plugged something into the power outlet, it worked. OK.. move on, check the cable between the PC and the power. the plug had partly come out of the PC. I fully unplugged, plugged it back in and it works just fine. I experienced something similar in NZ but when the lightning hit it briefly lit up the lights, so assume something similar happened - don't know, not an electrician but everything seems OK. As for the roof, a bit of a mystery. The roof itself seems intact, apparently there was something blocking the drain, but until we get another load of rain I can't be sure.

The Weather
The storm woke me up at an ungodly hour this morning: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c98r2vzmm5qoIt was impressive, though.
