Council issues 'no barbecues plea' after recent wildfires in the region
Warning comes after crews fought to tackle fires in Warwickshire last week

Warwick District Council has issued a plea asking people not to use barbecues in local parks. The warning comes less than a week after wildfires ravaged parts of Warwickshire.

Crews from North Warwickshire tackled a huge wildfire as it tore through grassland and greenery off Church Road in Dordon last Sunday (6 April).

Though the cause of the fire wasn't officially revealed, Atherstone Fire Station stressed that all wildfire incidents can be prevented and issued key advice.
