The scheme is expanding; I wonder if it can be extended to a year-round scheme with a permanent base: http://www.nuneaton-news.co.uk/after-horrendous-time-night-shelter-finds-space-to-offer-beds-to-more-homeless-people/story-30045611-detail/story.html

Talking about the homeless problem, in the news today, a 30 year old male was tragically found dead in Birmingham behind a pub.
They suspect is was drug related.

Without wanting to sound crass, a few homeless folk are alcoholics have brought about their own problems. But having said that I still do what I can in my small way to alleviate their sufferings. It is terrible seeing them sleeping in shops doorways on a freezing night. Our local churches, Charities and the Salvation army give them a lot of support.
I spoke to a guy who was sitting by a shop in town begging, I asked why he was homeless , he said he split with his wife and was going through a divorce. Whether we believe all their stories it is hard to tell sometimes. But I give them some small change, not that it helps in the long term.

It's a shame that they are so limited in what they can do. Homelessness in this country is a national disgrace.

Homeless Shelter Scheme
It's great to see the church doing something for the needy of Nuneaton: http://www.nuneaton-news.co.uk/winter-night-shelter-to-help-the-homeless-in-nuneaton/story-29938148-detail/story.html
