Glad it's going to remain an airfield (for now!).

The plans for the site have been finalised - no houses, though: https://stratfordobserver.co.uk/news/wellesbourne-airfield-plans-to-be-unveiled-to-the-public-46101/

The uncertainty must be killing the businesses. How could you operate not knowing how long you've got? You'd certainly not be carrying out any real investment.

6 months on, and still no progress: https://stratfordobserver.co.uk/news/wellesbourne-airfield-negotiations-still-ongoing-27739/

If I'd got a business there I'd be looking to relocate.

Businesses simply don't need uncertainty over the security of their premises added to the rest of the problems that they currently face.

This is really starting to drag on: https://www.stratford-herald.com/110687-council-still-committed-retaining-wellesbourne-airfield.html

That's what I was thinking too.

I thought there was only one operational runway? Looking at that picture only one appears in regular use.

Looks like a compromise has been reached, although not everyone's happy: http://www.stratford-herald.com/103088-pilots-say-future-wellesbourne-airfield-undermined.html

The problem here is that another year still does nothing to alleviate the uncertainty.

If you had a business there would you be investing in it under this cloud?

I think I'll reserve judgement for the time being.

As an aside, why has the Telegraph featured Coventry's Vulcan bomber when Wellesbourne has its own? - Slack and lazy journalism I'd suggest.

The council & owners are talking to each other about the airfield's future: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/wellesbourne-airfield-stratford-16746954

This is getting dirty.

Can the businesses afford the costs to fight on? Unfortunately, the law favours those with deep pockets.

The business owners have lost the latest stage of the legal battle: http://www.stratford-herald.com/97091-wellesbourne-airfield-tenants-lose-high-court-appeal.html

God knows where they're going to find the money to pay for it. Council tax rises, no doubt; all to just win over a few more votes.
