That is terrible.
I'm not religious, but respect those that are. But for anyone to vandalise graves, that is simply beneath contempt. If those responsible are caught, my bet is that they'll only get a slight tap on the wrist and told not to do it again.
If it were down to me, they would pay for any restoration and they would be publicly named and shamed on bill boards across the county. If they were minors I'd make their parents pay and still name and shame. We're far too soft on this type of crime.
