Nah, you are all wrong. It's that ET up there, every time he does his emails. Surely he can find a more efficient way to "call home". Perhaps it is a cost effective solution for him, after all, I daresay aliens have the same cost cutting excercises that businesses here have and I guess one of them is to tap in to our resources here instead of their own.
