Does anyone have any idea how long - roughly - it should take to hang an interior door and - roughly - what you should expect to pay per hour? |

I did an easy front door last week, took about 1.5 hours, including locks.. It all depends on if the door 'wants to be hung'.... if you see what I mean! No idea what people charge to do it, sadly....

Iwill always ask what the price is for the whole job-------and get at least 3 quotes. Being a female Ihave learned the hard way. I paid once £80 to have a tap washer replaced---20 minutes work...........Iforgot to ask how much first. Some tradesman think we are so desperate to get jobs done they can charge anything. For example---I needed my very large laurel hedge cut and was quoted £250 ------and 300 if they took the stuff away. As the only reason for me not doing it myself was that I had no means of disposal, Ithink he thought Iwould say yes. Isaid no and he went off in a huff. The one I use now is a tree surgeon, was trained at Kew and charges me £75. He also does the trees. |
