This year I have been teaching my 8 year old grandaughter to sing some songs that I like.
She has developed a very strong voice for her age, and perfect pitch.
We sing things like Waltzing Matilda.and some English folk songs.but also some of the beatles songs. Also some of Joan Baez's freedom songs
Beautiful Boy is one of her favourites and now is learning Hey Jude. We find some of the songs on u-tube and look for the best recordings which we sing until she gets the tune perfect.
She loves pop songs but I think some of the classics help to round off her voice. She has this week been selected by her teacher at school to audition for the Warwickshire Chidrens Choir. She is so pleased so am I.
Last Christmas she sang solo in her local church.
