Fascinating Lex. $10 billion dollars for a telescope is a hell of a lot money for deep space exploration to detect new forming stars and galaxies. Makes one wonder why this project is so important. I will take time to read all.
I was wondering how 'new' stars are formed, and how come we can see 'new' stars if the light from them takes ex amount of years to reach us or are visible to us? The video is short and doesn't say an awful lot.
But I guess this kind of exploration is still in its infancy.
Maybe they want to gather stardust, what we are supposedly made from.

I've been hearing about this on the radio today; it'll be interesting to see how well the experiment works.

I can't help wondering if the law of unintended consequences will show its ugly little head? There is a lot more in this universe than we understand...
