Sadness as family-run jewellers to close after 20 years

A family-run Warwickshire jewellers is set to close after 20 years in business. Leamington Spa-based Peter Stephan is closing as owners Colin and Sandie Scamp move into retirement.

Their shop in Warwick Street has become a firm favourite with shoppers in search of stylish, high-quality jewellery for both men and women. As a token of appreciation for their customers, the couple are set to have a momentous sale from 10am today.

All jewellery - including diamond pieces, pearls, and coloured stone jewellery - will be marked down by 50%. "Royal Leamington Spa is a wonderful, vibrant town," Colin said. "The people are so friendly here and we have felt incredibly welcome; we will miss it terribly.

"After long careers as jewellers, and working in retail for all our lives, we are ready to retire. We have thought long and hard about closing the store, and it’s been an incredibly difficult decision.

"Particularly because the most enjoyable aspect of the business is the people that we meet; so many who have become good friends. For us, the time is right, and we are very much looking forward to spending time with our family; particularly our grandchildren.

"We hope that our customers will take this final opportunity to buy a piece that they can treasure from our high-quality collection." Colin has accrued over 45-years of jewellery knowledge during a career that included a directorship at Beards of Cheltenham and a stint at luxury jewellers Boodles.

Sandie has also spent her life within the industry and together the couple fulfilled a lifelong dream when they opened Peter Stephan jewellers. All jewellery in the shop will be in the sale and that includes rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, pearls, silver pieces and more.
