Launching Friday 1 August – Celebrate local with fresh produce, unique finds, and independent charm.

Leamington Spa is set to welcome a brand-new weekly market on the beautiful tree-lined Holly Walk, launching Friday 1 August and running every Friday from 10am to 4pm on a 3-month trial.

Brought to you by CJ’s Events Warwickshire in partnership with Warwick District Council, this vibrant new market will bring together a fantastic mix of local produce and independent traders, offering everything from fresh fruit and veg, artisan pies, and speciality cheeses, to general goods and hand-crafted items.

Jamie Probert-Walker, Director of CJ’s Events Warwickshire said:

“For a number of years, we’ve received regular requests to bring a weekly market back to Leamington. While the town currently hosts a successful monthly market and weekly festive markets from October to December, these are primarily aimed at weekend visitors.

We’ll be gathering feedback over the 3 months and review the success with the council. Many will remember when Leamington held a traditional weekly market, offering essentials such as fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, pies, and other local produce.

We’re now excited to be working in partnership with the council to reintroduce this style of market - bringing back a valued part of the town’s history and supporting local traders and residents alike."

Councillor Ella Billiald, Portfolio Holder for Arts, Culture and Economy said:

"Following the success of the Indie Market on Friday 4 July and wonderful feedback from businesses, visitors and traders, we are delighted to work with CJ’s Events Warwickshire to extend the trial of this vibrant new market in Leamington over the coming months.

The market utilises a beautiful and underused space in Royal Leamington Spa and provides a space to wander, shop and explore without the need for road closures and diversions.

We would like to thank CJ’s Events Warwickshire for their commitment to bringing new and exciting ideas for markets and events in our community, activating different spaces and bringing more people in to our towns.”

The market will add to the atmosphere of Holly Walk – a destination already home to much-loved local businesses like Desa Café, known for its warm atmosphere and delicious coffee and food; Store and Studio, offering stylish homeware, beauty and fashion; and Presto Music, a haven for music lovers.

The market will enhance the vibrant atmosphere of Holly Walk, already a thriving destination home to much-loved local gems like Desa Café, renowned for its welcoming vibe and tasty food and coffee; Store and Studio, offering chic homeware, beauty, and fashion; Sanctuaryeleven, a beautiful lifestyle and homeware store; and Presto Music, a true haven for music lovers.

Shop local, support independents, and enjoy the best of what Leamington has to offer – every Friday on Holly Walk.

That may be interesting to visit. But I wouldn't have thought Holly Walk itself that suitable to hold a market as its not a very wide area.

I used to work for a company that had its' HQ on Holly Walk. I must agree with you, Margaret, I really don't think it's the most suitable place.
