From what I've been hearing, the pub's completely gutted. It's a listed building too, so might not be worth being rebuilt as a watering hole.

Apparently, the owner's a bit of a dodgy character - previous prison time for fraud etc... It's rumoured that the building was chronically underinsured as well.

It could be the case that someone else will have to take it on eventually....?
