Putting his crimes to one side, Gary Glitter was a very good stage act and I did a pretty fair impression of him in my last couple of school years. I was given a week's suspension for singing a very rude version of this song. Apparently, the Head was so outraged, that even a Saturday morning detention was ruled out. I don't think my mum was very happy!
